Link a RuPay credit card to a UPI app and spend credit at QR-scanning stalls, not just POS terminals.
Traditionally credit cards needed POS machines. Linking RuPay credit cards to UPI brought credit spending to the vegetable vendor: select the card inside the UPI app before scanning, and the payment rides your credit line.
Economics: customers pay nothing extra, but merchants see an interchange (around 1.1% on transactions above ₹2,000, subject to periodic NPCI revision) netted on the acquiring side — the one mainstream case where small-ticket UPI stops being strictly zero-cost for the seller.
